Keystone Bank Equips Borno Nursing College with ICT Centre to Advance Digital Learning

In a strong show of support for education and digital development, Keystone Bank Limited has donated a fully equipped ICT Centre to Borno Nursing College and Midwifery, Maiduguri, in Borno State.

The project was delivered under the Keystone Bank Educational Support Initiative, aiming to improve access to digital resources in learning institutions.

The new center comes with 55 computers, 54 workstations, solar power with inverter backup, 55 chairs, a librarian’s reception desk, and a reception lounge all designed to create a conducive space for digital learning, innovation, and research.

At the official handover ceremony held on Monday, July 7, 2025, Mr. Abubakar Usman Bello, Executive Director (North & Public Sector) at Keystone Bank, emphasized the bank’s dedication to improving education in Nigeria.

“Education is the cornerstone of any thriving society. It shapes young minds, opens doors to opportunity, and builds the leaders of tomorrow,” he said.

“At Keystone Bank, we believe that investing in education is one of the most powerful ways to drive national development. This ICT Centre represents what is possible when the private and public sectors come together to empower future generations.”

He further pledged the bank’s continuous support to Borno State’s efforts in delivering quality education, especially in areas affected by insecurity and lack of infrastructure.

Also speaking at the event, Dr. Mustapha Babagana Mallumbe, Acting Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Budget and Planning in Borno State, described the donation as a major step in the state’s educational recovery journey.

“This ICT Centre is a milestone in rebuilding Borno’s educational infrastructure,” he said, calling on more private institutions to follow Keystone Bank’s lead.

The facility is expected to greatly improve students’ digital access, enhance research capabilities, and support the college’s mission of producing well-trained healthcare professionals who can meet Borno’s growing medical needs.
