2Baba’s Secret Wedding to Natasha Ignites Public Buzz
Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent “2Baba” Idibia is back in the spotlight following a quiet traditional wedding ceremony with his new partner, Natasha Osawaru, which has stirred a mix of emotions online.
The event took place just a few months after the singer publicly confirmed his split from his longtime wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia. His engagement to Natasha was made public back in February, shortly after the separation was announced. Amidst cheating allegations , he made it clear that he did not divorcing with his wife because of Natasha, that he just could not help the fact that his split with Annie is irreconcilable.
In reaction to the news, actor and online personality Uche Maduagwu voiced strong criticism, claiming the new marriage may be short-lived unless 2Baba makes amends with his former wife.
“Traditional marriage is always a special day of joy, I have never seen where a man will be looking unhappy on his traditional wedding day. Did you people not notice ? Look at his face. Please, let us pray for 2Baba. People are always happy on their traditional marriage, It has reached 2Baba’s turn, He frowned face. God told me that this marriage will not last two years, if 2Baba doesn’t go and apologize to Annie,” Maduagwu said this in his recent Video on Instagram and he also wrote it.
The private ceremony was attended only by close relatives, but footage and images from the celebration did not take long to reach the internet. One clip, which has gone viral, shows the couple hugging and smiling – dressed in vibrant Edo-inspired wedding attire.
Social media users have been divided in their reactions. While some expressed support for the music icon’s new beginning, others shared sympathy for Annie, who gave birth to three children for 2Baba. A lot of people have been asking questions over the speed of his remarriage and whether the family had time to heal, as if he had long been waiting for Annie to divorce
Despite the surrounding commentary, the traditional wedding itself was a colorful display of culture and elegance. 2Baba wore coral beads, a velvet red wrapper, and a matching cap, while Natasha looked radiant in coordinated traditional attire.
