Adekunle Gold Silences Doubts with HND Certificate After Fan Questions His First-Class Claim
Following his recent face-off with Wema Bank over their unauthorized use of his first-class giveaway initiative in a promotional ad, singer Adekunle Gold (AG Baby) has now faced scrutiny from a different angle – a curious fan on X.
The X user, reacting to the viral trend, directly asked the artist what grade he actually graduated with and requested proof. Rather than ignore or dodge the question, Adekunle Gold took the straightforward route – and responded boldly with: “Upper Credit.”
Not stopping there, the singer backed his claim with a formal certificate issued by the Lagos State Polytechnic, confirming that he completed his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Art & Design (Graphics Option) during the 2008/2009 academic session, graduating with Upper Credit.

The certificate, dated 30th June 2010, was signed by the Deputy Registrar (Academic), and it officially affirmed that Adekunle Gold met all academic and industrial training requirements before earning his diploma.
The singer’s calm yet confident response has drawn praise from fans, with many applauding his transparency and maturity in handling public doubt. It also served as a subtle clapback to those who questioned his sincerity amid the recent first-class graduate giveaway campaign that sparked both celebration and controversy.
While the heat with Wema Bank still lingers, AG Baby’s move to clear the air on his personal credentials has only strengthened his credibility among supporters.
