Ondo Police Confirm Death of Suspect in Adekunle Ajasin University Students’ Murder Case

The Ondo State Police Command confirmed on July 19, 2025, that Femi Oladele, alias Tallex, a suspect in the murder of two Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA) students, died in custody on July 18 due to a brief illness.

Oladele was arrested for his alleged role in the abduction and killing of Andrel Okah, a 200-level History and International Studies student, and John Abba, a 200-level Economics student, who went missing on June 20, 2025.

After three weeks, classmates reported their disappearance, prompting a police investigation that led to the arrest of Oladele, the victims’ landlord, and two accomplices.

One suspect confessed the victims were killed, with their bodies dumped in Ekiti State. Okah’s decomposing body was recovered and deposited at a morgue, while efforts to locate Abba’s remains continue. Police Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade stated: “Yes, he is dead. He had been under medical supervision since his arrest and had been in and out of the hospital. He passed away yesterday (Friday).

We have recovered the decomposing body of Okah and are still searching for Abba’s remains. We urge the public to disregard any attempt to twist the facts. The command remains fully committed to justice. Everyone involved will face the full weight of the law.”
