Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has spoken openly about a painful betrayal she experienced at the hands of an unnamed colleague, describing it as something she may forgive but cannot forget.
In an emotional message shared on her Instagram page, the actress explained that although she has chosen forgiveness, the memory of what was done to her remains deeply hurtful. She described the incident as an “abomination” and said it left a serious dent on her name and reputation.
According to Etiko, the colleague allegedly fabricated lies against her simply because people were praising her for being a caring and devoted daughter to her mother. She stated that she had never wronged the person and was shocked that someone who identifies as a Christian could act in such a manner.
The actress revealed that the false accusations affected not only her but also her family. She said her mother received several phone calls about the allegations, leaving her sad and deeply disappointed. Etiko noted that the betrayal was especially painful because it came from someone who once referred to her as a sister.
While stressing that she has forgiven the individual involved, the actress made it clear that the emotional damage caused to her family and her reputation is something she cannot simply erase.
She questioned why anyone would choose to betray someone they once called family, adding that the experience has left a lasting emotional scar.
