JUST-IN: Plateau Police Arraign 22 Suspects Over Mob Killing of Kaduna Wedding Guests
The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed that 22 suspects connected to the June 21 mob attack in Mangun community, Mangu LGA, are being arraigned today, Thursday, July 10, 2025.
The tragic incident involved a group of 31 wedding guests who were traveling from Basawa community in Zaria, Kaduna State, to Qua’an Pan LGA in Plateau State for a ceremony when they were brutally attacked after stopping to ask for directions in Mangun. Thirteen people, including women and children, were killed in the mob violence.
The arraignment is taking place at the Plateau State High Court (Court 10), with proceedings scheduled to begin at 9:00am. According to Police spokesperson DSP Alfred Alabo, accredited journalists are invited to cover the hearing and will be transported from the court to the Police Command Headquarters for a press briefing with the Commissioner of Police afterward.
The incident shocked the nation and sparked widespread condemnation, prompting calls for swift justice. Authorities have assured the public that the suspects will face the full weight of the law.
